Communication and Efficiency in the Symbiotic Signal Exchange
2003Signals and substrates from plant roots are equally as important for the microbial populations as for their interaction with plant roots. Several hundred secondary metabolites from plants have been identified during the past decades in the large groups of flavonoids, non-proteinogenic amino acids, and alkaloids.

Efficient Learning from Delayed Rewards through Symbiotic Evolution
1995This paper presents a new reinforcement learning method called sane (Symbiotic, Adaptive Neuro-Evolution) that evolves a population of neurons through genetic algorithms to form a neural network for a given task. Symbiotic evolution promotes both cooperation and specialization in the population, which results in a fast, efficient genetic search and ...

Plankton availability and retention efficiencies of cold‐seep symbiotic mussels
Limnology and Oceanography, 1999Mussels from deep‐sea methane/sulfide seeps in the Gulf of Mexico supplement their symbiotically acquired nitrogen by feeding selectively on nitrogen‐rich bacterioplankton. The previously unknown natural diet of the mussels consists of bacteria, Synechococcus‐type cyanobacteria, and protozoans.

Symbiotic system models for efficient IOT system design and test
2017 International Test Conference in Asia (ITC-Asia), 2017IOT has seen countless potential applications that can improve our lives dramatically, but after years of efforts by numerous companies and organizations, the beautiful dreams are yet to be realized. The main obstacles are cost and energy consumption constraints of the devices and systems, which still cannot be contained. As a step forward in improving

Termite-Microbe Symbiotic System and Its Efficient Degradation of Lignocellulose
Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 2009Termites thrive in the tropics and play an important role in lignocellulose degradation. This ability depends mainly on intestine microbes in the gut, but most of them are so-called unculturable microbes, which can not be cultivated by traditional culture methods.

Is phosphorus efficiency low for symbiotic nitrogen fixation?
2011Phosphorus is the limiting nutrient for legume symbiotic nitrogen fixation in most soils of the planet. Thus the yield of legumes generally responds to phosphorus fertilization. The P requirement of legumes is generally higher when their growth depends upon atmospheric nitrogen than upon ammonium or nitrate. This communication will revise the metabolic

Toward More Productive, Efficient, and Competitive Nitrogen-Fixing Symbiotic Bacteria
Critical Reviews in Plant Sciences, 1996Abstract The prospects of developing strains of legume nodule bacteria that provide higher productivity of leguminous plants are described. The generic, biochemical, physiological, regulatory, and economic constraints that govern the ability of private and public efforts to construct better inoculants for legume nodulation are discussed.

To find wide host range compatible potential inoculant strains with high efficiency in N fixation, we isolated rhizobia from soybean root nodules in Sichuan. Most of the isolated rhizobia were no- or low-effective strains. Eight out of 75 isolates promoted significantly the growth of soybean cultivar Gongxuan No. 1.
