Circumstellar Dust in Symbiotic Novae

open access: yesEAS Publications Series, 2015
We present a model of inner dust regions around the cool Mira component of the two symbiotic novae, RR Tel and HM Sge, based on the near-IR photometry, ISO spectra and mid-IR interferometry. The dust properties were determined using the DUSTY code. A compact circumstellar silicate dust shell with inner dust shell temperatures between 900 K and 1300 K ...

The Recurrent Novae and Their Relation With Classical Novae

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2002
Recurrent novae (RNe) are a subclass of cataclysmic variables classified based on recorded observations of more than one nova outburst. They form a small, but heterogeneous group of objects, with 10 known members, that undergo classical nova‐like ...

Shocks in Novae and in Symbiotic Stars

1995
Composite models which consistently account for both shocks and a photoionizing radiation flux are successfully used for the calculations of the spectra emitted from RS Ophiuci and HM Sagittae. The composition determined by the model indicate that RS Ophiuci is characterized by a massive white dwarf.

Bowen Fluorescence in the Symbiotic Nova RR Telescopii

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
We have identified and measured the accurate strengths of Bowen fluorescence lines of O III and N III in the spectra of the Symbiotic Nova RR Telescopii. Altogether 29 O III lines, some of them newly identified, have been measured. After re-determining the inrestellar absorption, we show that the relative line strengths can be accounted for assuming ...

The dust envelope of the symbiotic nova HM Sge

Astronomy Reports, 2001
We have studied the brightness and color variations of the symbiotic nova HM Sge based on longterm UBVRJHKLM photometry of the star and data on its energy distribution in the middle infrared (7.7–22.7 µm) obtained with the low-resolution spectrometers of the IRAS satellite and ISO orbital observatory. We have also calculated models for the steady-state,

The dust envelope of the symbiotic nova V1016 Cyg

Astronomy Reports, 2001
Brightness and color variations of V1016 Cyg are studied using many years of UBVRJHKLM photometric observations and information about its spectral energy distribution in the intermediate IR (7.7 to 22.7 µm) obtained with the IRAS and ISO low-resolution spectrometers.

Photometric Observations of Novae and Symbiotic Stars

1995
The Stazione Astronomica di Remanzacco (St.A.R.) is a public Observatory managed by an Italian amateur astronomical society named Associazione Friulana di Astronomia e Meteorologia (A.F.A.M.). This Observatory is located in the Noth-East part of Italy, close to the city of Udine.
