The Role of Binary Configuration in Shaping Nova Evolution via Wind Accretion in Symbiotic Systems
We investigate the impact of the Bondi–Hoyle–Lyttleton (BHL) accretion mechanism on the evolution of nova eruptions in symbiotic systems by systematically varying three key input parameters: the initial donor (asymptotic giant branch, AGB) mass, the ...

Analysis of the Gaia DR3 planetary nebula candidates and the possible symbiotic stars among them
Context. The Gaia DR3, released in June 2022, included low-resolution BP/RP (XP) spectra that have been exploited for the classification of various types of emission-line objects using machine-learning techniques.

Lack of Significant Orbital-phase Locking in the Active Phases of the Recurrent Nova T CrB
T Coronae Borealis (T CrB) is a symbiotic recurrent nova that exhibits both nova eruptions and long-term active phases resembling superoutbursts and normal outbursts.

Models of symbiotic stars [PDF]
One of the most important features of symbiotic stars is the coexistence of a cool spectral component that is apparently very similar to the spectrum of a cool giant, with at least one hot continuum, and emission lines from very different stages of ...

A Multiwavelength Study of the Symbiotic Mira HM Sge with SOFIA and HST
We have targeted the dusty symbiotic Mira system HM Sge with four instruments from the IR to the UV. We have used these observations along with archival observations to study how the system has been evolving after its 1975 nova-like outburst.

Modeling the High-brightness State of the Recurrent Nova T CrB as an Enhanced Mass-transfer Event
T Coronae Borealis is the nearest symbiotic recurrent nova. Twice in the last two centuries, in 1866 and 1946, the accreted material ignited on the surface of the white dwarf via runaway thermonuclear fusion reactions and produced a nova eruption.
