An Anytime Symmetry Detection Algorithm for ROBDDs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Detecting symmetries is crucial to logic synthesis, technology mapping, detecting function equivalence under unknown input correspondence, and ROBDD minimization. State-of-the-art is represented by Mishchenko's algorithm.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Tensor series expansion of a spherical function for the use in constitutive theory of materials containing orientable particles; pp 73-92 [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Estonian Academy of Sciences, 2018
This paper presents a didactical introduction to a tensor series expansion of a spherical function for the use in constitutive theory of materials containing orientable particles. In several application areas a function of two angles, e.g. an orientation

Counting Subtrees Using the Chromatic Symmetric Function

open access: yes, 2023
In 1995 Richard Stanley defined the chromatic symmetric function as a generalization of the chromatic polynomial. In the same paper Stanley gave a expansion of the chromatic symmetric function in the power-sum basis for symmetric functions.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

On Determinantal Symmetric Functions [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Edinburgh Mathematical Society, 1934
§ 1. The theory of symmetric polynomials abounds in dual identities and symmetries of various kinds. It has been investigated from the determinantal standpoint largely by means of quotients of alternants, such as,the denominator being the difference product of a, b, c, …, a simple alternant.

Calabi's diastasis function for Hermitian symmetric spaces

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we study the Calabi diastasis function of Hermitian symmetric spaces. This allows us to prove that if a complete Hermitian locally symmetric space (M, g) admits a Kaehler immersion into a globally symmetric space (S, G) then it is ...

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

A functionally-analytic method for modelling axial-symmetric flows of ideal fluid

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2019
We consider axial-symmetric stationary flows of the ideal incompressible fluid as an important case of potential solenoid fields. We use an integral expression of the Stokes flow function via the corresponding complex analytic function for solving a ...
