Divisionalization and symmetric product differentiation

open access: yesEconomic Theory Bulletin
AbstractI consider a standard two-stage game of divisionalization in which, in the first stage, two firms choose the number of divisions and, in the second stage, divisions compete independently à la Cournot. Two important assumptions are made. The creation of a division involves a fixed cost, and all divisions sell symmetrically differentiated goods ...

Recycling of NiTi Shape Memory Alloys: Fundamental and Technological Aspects of a Vacuum Induction Melting Processing Route

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

On the distinguishing chromatic number of the Kronecker products of graphs

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics
In this paper, we investigate the distinguishing chromatic number of Kronecker product of paths, cycles, star graphs, symmetric trees, almost symmetric trees, and bisymmetric trees.

On symmetric products of continua

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 1999
For a given topological space \(X\) and for a positive integer \(n\) the set \({\mathcal F}_n (X) = \{A \subset X : A \) has at most \(n\) points\(\}\) is called the \(n\)-th symmetric product of \(X\). \textit{A. Illanes} [An. Inst. Mat., Univ. Nac. Autón. Méx.

Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 15, 5 August 2026.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

Generalized symmetries and deformations of symmetric product orbifolds

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We construct generalized symmetries in two-dimensional symmetric product orbifold CFTs Sym N ( T $$ \mathcal{T} $$ ), for a generic seed CFT T $$ \mathcal{T} $$ .

Lightlike Hypersurfaces of a Semi-Riemannian Product Manifold and Quarter-Symmetric Nonmetric Connections

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2012
We study lightlike hypersurfaces of a semi-Riemannian product manifold. We introduce a class of lightlike hypersurfaces called screen semi-invariant lightlike hypersurfaces and radical anti-invariant lightlike hypersurfaces.

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐
