Gauge symmetry as symmetry of matrix coordinates [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2000
We propose a new point of view to gauge theories based on taking the action of symmetry transformations directly on the coordinates of space. Via this approach the gauge fields are not introduced at the first step, and they can be interpreted as fluctuations around some classical solutions of the model. The new point of view is connected to the lattice

Femtosecond Single‐ and Double‐Pulse Fabrication of Periodic Nanostructures on Stainless Steel for Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Periodic submicron features are fabricated on 304 stainless steel using single and double femtosecond laser pulses. By adjusting polarization, fluence, and inter‐pulse delay, 1D and 2D nanostructures are formed. Enhanced hydrophobicity and dense surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy hotspots enable analyte detection down to 10−10 M with good ...

The Greek parameters of a continuous arithmetic Asian option pricing model via Laplace Adomian decomposition method

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2018
The Greek parameters in option pricing are derivatives used in hedging against option risks. In this paper, the Greeks of the continuous arithmetic Asian option pricing model are derived.

Influence of a Standard Heat Treatment on the Microstructure and Properties of Inconel X‐750 Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ni‐base superalloys produced using additive manufacturing (AM) have a different response to heat treatments when compared to their conventional counterparts. Due to such unpredictability, various alloys with industrial interest are currently overlooked in most prior AM research.

A study of (3+1)-dimensional generalized Korteweg-de Vries- Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation via Lie symmetry approach

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
In this work, we analytically examine a (3+1)-dimensional generalized Korteweg-de Vries-Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation (gKdV-ZKe). Solutions of this equation, including a non-topological soliton, are obtained by Lie symmetry reductions and direct ...

A study of the generalized nonlinear advection-diffusion equation arising in engineering sciences

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
In this work, we examine a nonlinear partial differential equation of fluid mechanics, namely, the generalized nonlinear advection–diffusion equation, which portrays the motion of buoyancy driven plume in a bent-on porous medium. Firstly, we classify all

Laws, Symmetry, and Symmetry Breaking; Invariance, Conservation Principles, and Objectivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Given its importance in modern physics, philosophers of science have paid surprisingly little attention to the subject of symmetries and invariances, and they have largely neglected the subtopic of symmetry breaking.

SYMMETRY IN MATHEMATICS

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 1986
AbstractThe role of symmetry in geometry in universally recognized. The principal purpose of this article, on the other hand, is to show how it plays many significant, but varied, roles throughout the whole of mathematics. We illustrate this fact through characteristics examples; in most of these examples the mathematics is well known, but the symmetry
