A new exceptionally preserved sawfly fossil (Hymenoptera: Pergidae) and an evaluation of its utility for divergence time estimation and biogeography

We describe the first Australian Pergidae fossil species, Baladi warru, from McGraths Flat, a newly discovered Miocene Konservat‐Lagerstätte in Australia. The specimen contains pollen grains from Quintianapolis that were imaged with high‐resolution using SEM.

Three new species of Urosyntexis, U. volita sp. nov., U. forta sp. nov., and U. ensia sp. nov., belonging to the subfamily Anaxyelinae of Anaxyelidae were described and figured based on three well‐preserved specimens from the Middle Jurassic Jiulongshan Formation of Northeastern China.

Response of parasitoid communities to insecticide application during a Lymantria dispar outbreak in mixed oak forests

Journal of Applied Ecology, Volume 61, Issue 11, Page 2774-2785, November 2024.
This real‐world experiment shows that parasitoid populations respond immediately to large‐scale outbreaks but only limited to local disturbances. Results indicate that this group of natural enemies exhibits high mobility, enabling them to track host populations across large spatial scales.
