A modular biosynthetic PVA–gelatin hydrogel crosslinked via visible‐light thiol‐ene chemistry is engineered as a coating for neural electrodes. Optimizing matrix composition and mechanical properties enables the hydrogel to support astrocytic populations that guide neural differentiation and functional maturation.

Anion‐excessive gel‐based organic synaptic transistors (AEG‐OSTs) that can maintain electrical neutrality are developed to enhance synaptic plasticity and multistate retention. Key improvement is attributed to the maintenance of electrical neutrality in the electrolyte even after electrochemical doping, which reduces the Coulombic force acting on ...

The characteristics of a vertical floating gate heterostructure transistor device that exhibits neuromorphic potentiation under visible light illumination are investigated. Due to spectrally‐tuned absorbance properties of each thin film layer and introduction of tunneling dielectric, the device enables wavelength‐selective tuning of synaptic plasticity

Designing Asymmetric Memristive Behavior in Proton Mixed Conductors for Neuromorphic Applications
Protonic devices that couple ionic and electronic transport are demonstrated as bioinspired neuromorphic elements. The devices exhibit rubber‐like asymmetric memristive behavior with slow voltage‐driven conductance increase and rapid relaxation, enabling simplified read–write operation.

Trap‐Assisted Transport and Neuromorphic Plasticity in Lead‐Free 2D Perovskites PEA2SnI4
An artificial retina built from lead‐free layered perovskite (PEA)2SnI4 converts light input into a persistent photocurrent and sums successive flashes over time. Micro/nanocrystals integrated on electrodes act as synapse‐like pixels that perform temporal integration directly in hardware. This in‐sensor preprocessing merges detection and computation on

DNA-PK: A synopsis beyond synapsis
Given its central role in life, DNA is remarkably easy to damage. Double strand breaks (DSBs) are the most toxic form of DNA damage, and DSBs pose the greatest danger to genomic integrity. In higher vertebrates, the non-homologous end joining pathway (NHEJ) is the predominate pathway that repairs DSBs.

Synapsis promoted by ustilago rec1 protein
Ustilago rec 1 protein pairs homologous DNA molecules by promoting both synapsis and strand transfer. Complexes formed with rec 1 protein and a homologous combination of single-stranded and duplex DNA that appear to be synaptic structures can be detected by use of a nitrocellulose filter assay.
