Optimized Time–Frequency Analysis for Induction Motor Fault Detection Using Hybrid Differential Evolution and Deep Learning Techniques

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Workflow of the parameter optimization process for ITSC fault detection, applying Differential Evolution optimization and the Smooth Pseudo Wigner‐Ville Distribution for signal processing. The optimized parameters are then used in the failure identification pipeline, which combines the signal processing with a YOLO‐based architecture for fault severity

Unrolling of Syngonium podophyllum: Functional Anatomy, Morphology and Modelling of Its Peltate Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The unrolling of the peltate leaves in Syngonium podophyllum is analyzed and quantified (left‐hand side to center). These measurements serve to verify a mathematical model for leaf unrolling based on the model used in Schmidt (2007). An additional formula for obtaining a layer mismatch from a prescribed radius is derived.

Mechanical Behavior and Microstructural Changes Associated with Tensile Deformation above the Martensite Start Temperature during Quenching and Subsequent Partitioning of a Low‐Alloy 37SiB6 Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A new experimental setup, incorporating digital image correlation and infrared thermography in combination with inductive‐conductive heating for precise temperature control, is used to analyze the mechanical behavior and microstructural changes of sheet metal under complex thermomechanical test conditions that represent quench and partitioning ...

Network Synchronization in a Noisy Environment with Time Delays: Fundamental Limits and Trade-Offs

open access: yes, 2010
We study the effects of nonzero time delays in stochastic synchronization problems with linear couplings in an arbitrary network. Using the known exact threshold value from the theory of differential equations with delays, we provide the ...

Synchronous Task Control and Synchronous Barriers [PDF]

open access: yesACM SIGAda Ada Letters, 2016
This paper looks at two features of Ada that support synchronisation between tasks. First, an ambiguity with Synchronous Task Control is outlined. Second, the question of whether Synchronous Barriers should be allowed in the Ravenscar profile is addressed.

Direct Electron Detection Electron Energy‐Loss Spectroscopy: Speeding Up 2D Analytical In Situ Transmission Electron Microscopy for Aluminum Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scanning transmission electron microscopy imaging techniques are an essential tool to document dynamic developments, such as precipitation in aluminum alloys, during in situ heating experiments using transmission electron microscopy. However, in many cases, chemical information is required to interpret complex nanoscale processes.

Research on clock synchronization of ad hoc networks

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2006
As the variety of ad hoc networks applications and synchronization requirements, none synchronization proto-col can fit all the conditions. Based on the analysis of the difficulty of networks clock synchronization, the particularity of clock ...

A New Matrix Projective Synchronization and Its Application in Secure Communication

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, a new matrix projective synchronization for chaotic (hyperchaotic) maps is proposed. The novel scheme called P-M synchronization is presented in this paper, since it combines two matrix projective synchronization schemes (one is based on ...

Toward Maximum Utilization of Heavy Rare Earths in Sintered Nd–Fe–B Magnets by Grain Boundary Diffusion Source and Application Area Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, the grain boundary diffusion process is optimized to maximize heavy rare earth utilization by strategic magnetic hardening of areas in the magnet such as corners or edges that are highly susceptible to demagnetization, as demonstrated by finite element magnetostatics simulation on an internal permanent magnet, synchronous traction motor ...

Synchronization in driven versus autonomous coupled chaotic maps

open access: yes, 2005
The phenomenon of synchronization occurring in a locally coupled map lattice subject to an external drive is compared to the synchronization process in an autonomous coupled map system with similar local couplings plus a global interaction.
