Current Harmonic Suppression for Dual Three-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Due to motor asymmetry and system nonlinear factors, the dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives produce a large number of current harmonics during operation. Based on the Vector Space Decoupling model, the six-phase currents of

Fault Diagnosis and Fault-Tolerant Control of PMSM Drives–State of the Art and Future Challenges

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The issues of monitoring and fault diagnosis of drives with permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) are currently very relevant because of the increasing use of these drives in safety-critical devices. Every year, more and more articles are published

Vectorial formalism for analysis and design of polyphase synchronous machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A vectorial formalism for analysis and design of polyphase synchronous machines without reluctance and saturation effects is described. We prove the equivalence of such a machine with a set of magnetically independent machines, which are electrically and

Permanent Magnet minimization in PM-Assisted Synchronous Reluctance motors for wide speed range [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents a technique to modify the rotor lamination of a permanent-magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motor, in order to reduce the magnet volume with no side effect on performance.

Optimal Selection of Asynchronous Motor-Gearhead Couple Fed by VFD for Electrified Vehicle Propulsion

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Widespread applications of AC motors fed by variable frequency drives in electrified vehicles have become a conventional technical solution. The flexibility of control, low cost, and high energy efficiency attract developers and engineers to apply these ...

Hopf Bifurcation and Chaos in Synchronous Reluctance Motor Drives [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2004
This paper first presents the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation and chaos in a practical synchronous reluctance motor drive system. Based on the derived nonlinear system equation, the bifurcation analysis shows that the system loses stability via Hopf bifurcation when the d-axis component of its three-phase motor voltages loses its control.

Position-sensorless control of permanent-magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motor

open access: yes, 2003
The sensorless control of permanent-magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance (PMASR) motors is investigated, in order to conjugate the advantages of the sensorless control with full exploitation of the allowed operating area, for a given inverter.

Right Harmonic Spectrum for the back-electromotive force of a n-phase synchronous motor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper deals with a vector control of n-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine. To use control algorithms already developed for sine-wave 3-phase machines, the spectrum of back electromotive force (EMF) must contain only odd 2k+1 harmonics which ...

An encoderless high-performance synchronous reluctance motor drive [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015
This paper presents an encoderless highperformance synchronous reluctance motor drive for traction applications. The control system is based on the active flux concept and a hybrid rotor position estimation algorithm is used, being this algorithm based on the injection of high-frequency signals at low speeds and on the position of the active flux ...

Special synchronous motors for driving reclamation pumps

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2022
Abstract Possibilities of contactless excitation of a synchronous motor of a special design intended for driving pumps in irrigated agriculture are considered. The possibility of using an asynchronous machine with a contactless exciter is considered. An asynchronous machine with a rotating semiconductor unregulated rectifier is installed
