Writing Against the Machine: Computational Authorship and Historical Writing
Abstract Historians generate knowledge through the labour of composition – through the friction between interpretation and evidence that makes claims open to scrutiny and challenge. This essay argues that when composition is bypassed, that structure disappears. Generative AI raises this issue in urgent fashion.

The Old Regime (of Mutualisation) and the Revolution (of Big Data)
ABSTRACT In his classic work L'ancien régime et la révolution, Alexis de Tocqueville proposes a reinterpretation of the French Revolution: behind the spectacular ruptures associated with the event, profound continuities are at play. Beyond the specific case of the French Revolution, Tocqueville calls for vigilance in mobilizing the notion of revolution

Abstract This study introduces a concept and measure of “error tolerance culture” that could advance our understanding of cross‐national variations in entrepreneurial activity and risk‐related outcomes. Using data from 58 countries of the GLOBE study, we show that the cultural practice of error tolerance constitutes a meaningful measure with dual ...

Synchronous reluctance machines are a valid alternative to induction motors for industrial applications requiring variable speed regulation. To mitigate the well-known downside of their lower power factor, permanent-magnet-assisted topologies are adopted.

ABSTRACT Background Dental anxiety is a widespread barrier to care, often contributing to appointment avoidance, treatment disruption, and emotional strain for both patients and clinicians. While extensively studied as a psychological trait, less attention has been paid to how anxiety manifests situationally and relationally, through non‐verbal ...

Old Skool Spinning and Syncing: Memory, Technologies, and Occupational Membership in a DJ Community
Abstract We show how technology and its temporal instantiations act as material‐relational mnemonic devices that provide temporal anchors for collective remembering in occupations and form the basis of what we call an 'occupational mnemonic community'.

ABSTRACT Reward anticipation potentially guides sequential decision making, yet its underlying neural dynamics remain unclear. In this study, we investigated how within‐trial escalating risk and contextual uncertainty modulate oscillatory brain activity during reward anticipation.
