Sensitivity Analysis of MTPA Control to Angle Errors for Synchronous Reluctance Machines

open access: yesMathematics
This study investigated the sensitivity of maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control in synchronous reluctance machines (SynRMs) to angle errors, examining specifically how deviations in the reference control trajectory affected performance.

Thermal modelling of the Synchronous Reluctance Machine

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper two methods for thermally modelling the Synchronous Reluctance Machine (SynRM) have been developed and compared to measured data. The first is an analytical method for estimating the end winding temperature based on Brostr¨oms formula. Curve fitting to the measured data was done by Gauss-Newton estimation.

Control of Brushless Doubly-Fed Reluctance Machines under Normal and Faulty Operating Conditions

open access: yes
The brushless doubly fed reluctance machine (BDFRM) is an attractive alternative technology to traditional slip-ring doubly fed induction machine (DFIM) for slip-power recovery applications with limited variable speed ranges such as wind turbines or pump-

Improved direct torque control using Kalman filter: application to a doubly-fed machine

open access: yes, 2009
Direct Torque Control (DTC) has been extensively researched and applied during the last two decades. However, it has only first been applied to the Brushless Doubly Fed Reluctance Machine (BDFRM) a few years ago in its basic form inheriting its intrinsic

Comparizon of Conventional and Unconventional 5-phase PM Motor Structures for Naval Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Multi-phase motors are widely used in marine propulsion. In this paper, a Multi-machine modeling of Surface Mounted PM motors is presented and applied to a 5-phase one.

Comparison of Different Designs of Synchronous Reluctance Machines with High-Anisotropy Rotors

open access: yes, 2012
In terms of torque capability, power factor and efficiency, synchronous reluctance machines with high-anisotropy rotors represent an alternative to conventional induction machines.

Synchronous Reluctance Machine (SynRM) Design

open access: yes, 2007
The Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) has been studied. A suitable machine vector modelhas been derived. The influence of the major parameters on the motor performance has beentheoretically determined.Due to the complex rotor geometry in the SynRM, a suitable and simple combined theoretical(analytical) and finite element method has been developed to
