Steady-state analysis and stability of synchronous reluctance motors considering saturation effects [PDF]
This paper investigates the influence of the magnetic saturation on the performance of a Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM) at steady-state. In addition, the stability limits for the SynRM are studied using a suggested more accurate method.

The parametrisation and modelling of a magnetically anisotropic rotor axial flux motor are presented. The analytical model results were validated by FEA (Finite Element Analysis), using both 2D multi‐slice and 3D modelling approaches. The modelling error was calculated and the analytical and numerical methods were compared.

This paper presents an analytical model to compute the current harmonics of a PMa-SynRM fed by PWM inverter. Voltage signal expressions are deduced and the machine parameters are provided by an analytical nonlinear model of the machine. The current signal was compared with a nonlinear Simulink model, giving satisfying results.

Thermal analysis of induction and synchronous reluctance motors [PDF]
In this paper, the thermal behavior of two induction motors (2.2 and 4 kW, four poles) and two synchronous reluctance motors [(SynRMs) transverse-laminated] are investigated and compared.

The motive of this study is to analyse the characteristics of a novel dual‐stator embedded‐pole six‐phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (NDSEPSP‐PMSM) for the application of electric vehicles. A comparative analysis of two separate motor topologies, namely, dual stator embedded‐pole six‐phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (DSEPSP‐PMSM) and ...

Comparative study of inner and outer rotor bearingless synchronous reluctance motors
In this study, the authors presented a systematic design procedure of outer rotor bearingless synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM). The proposed motor is compared with an already prototyped inner rotor bearingless SynRM at different operation points.

Detection of inter-turn faults in multi-phase ferrite-PM assisted synchronous reluctance machine [PDF]
Inter-turn winding faults in five-phase ferrite-permanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motors (fPMa-SynRMs) can lead to catastrophic consequences if not detected in a timely manner, since they can quickly progress into more severe short-circuit
