PASTA‐ELN: Simplifying Research Data Management for Experimental Materials Science
Research data management faces ongoing hurdles as many ELNs remain complex and restrictive. PASTA‐ELN offers an open‐source, cross‐platform solution that prioritizes simplicity, offline access, and user control. Its in tuitive folder structure, modular Python add‐ons, and open formats enable seamless documentation, FAIR data practices, and easy ...

Computing with Neural Synchrony
Neurons communicate primarily with spikes, but most theories of neural computation are based on firing rates. Yet, many experimental observations suggest that the temporal coordination of spikes plays a role in sensory processing. Among potential spike-based codes, synchrony appears as a good candidate because neural firing and plasticity are sensitive

The goal of this paper is twofold. We propose and explore a model to study the synchronization among populations in the canonical model of the neocortex proposed previously by (R.J. Douglas, K.A.C. Martin, A functional microcircuit for cat visual cortex.

Ecological Synchrony and Metapopulation Persistence [PDF]
Due to habitat fragmentation, many of the populations in nature have been broken into smaller subpopulations that are connected by migration (i.e., metapopulation). Subpopulation synchrony within a metapopulation is of practical importance because it has

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Interpersonal synchrony is increasingly being studied in the context of psychotherapy. The Interpersonal Synchrony (In-Sync) model proposes that patient-therapist synchrony enhances working alliance by promoting emotion regulation (ER).

A small world of neuronal synchrony
A small-world network has been suggested to be an efficient solution for achieving both modular and global processing-a property highly desirable for brain computations.

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

We present an in-depth discussion of the relationships between synchrony and asynchrony. Simple models of both paradigms are presented, and we state theorems which guarantee correct desynchronization, meaning that the original synchronous semantics can be reconstructed from the result of this desynchronization.

This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.
