Solid State Phenomena, 2004
After a brief description of the goals of synergetics, basic concepts of this interdisciplinary field, such as order parameters and the slaving principles, are sketched. Close to instability points the dynamics of a complex system can be reduced to low dimensional dynamics, where fluctuations can be included.

International Journal of Psychophysiology, 2006
Several brain functions such as movement coordination and visual perception are analysed in terms of synergetics, an interdisciplinary field of research dealing with spontaneous pattern formation. Accordingly, the brain is conceived as a self-organizing system operating close to instabilities where its activities are governed by collective variables ...

Synergetic Impact of Synergetics - Remembrances of a Chemist
2015I review historical chemical experiments in which the phenomena of self-organisation and pattern formation were first observed. I then review theoretical models for the description of oscillating chemical reactions and reactions with limit-cycle behaviour.
