Analysis of Various Two Synodic Period Earth-Mars Cycler Trajectories

AIAA/AAS Astrodynamics Specialist Conference and Exhibit, 2002
Trajectories that regularly encounter Earth and Mars but use small or no propulsive maneuvers are known as cycler trajectories, or cyclers. For cyclers that repeat after two Earth-Mars synodic periods, several variations are possible. A detailed investigation is presented of a simple two synodic period cycler, along with several promising variations ...

Powered Earth-Mars Cycler with Three-Synodic-Period Repeat Time

Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 2005
We construct a cycler (with acceptable transfer times and moderate encounter velocities) by patching a series of three-synodic-period semicycler trajectories together. The cycler employs high-efficiency low-thrust propulsion for trajectory maintenance and correction (thus making it a "powered" cycler).

A Synodic Resonance Formula for Planetary Orbital Periods

We present a zero-parameter formula that predicts the orbital periods of six solar system bodies to sub-0.2% accuracy: T = n × 29.5306 d × cos(i), where n is a positive integer, 29.5306 days is the lunar synodic period, and i is the planet's measured orbital inclination. Mercury (0.044%), Ceres (0.116%), Jupiter (0.168%), Saturn (0.087%), Uranus (0.029%

Lightcurves and Synodic Periods for Asteroids 1998 ST49, (13154) and (27529)

Earth, Moon, and Planets, 2006
The first photometric observations of the near-Earth asteroid 1998 ST49 and the main belt asteroids (13154) and (27529) are reported. The synodic rotation periods and amplitudes of the lightcurves are:

The Status of the Christians and the First Synods in the Early Period of the Sasanian

2015
