We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

A new synonym for Coprophilus (Zonyptilus) solskyi Bernhauer, 1908 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Oxytelinae) [PDF]
Long time Coprophilus (Zonyptilus) solskyi Bernhauer, 1908 (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) was known only from Romania. This species reliably occurs in the south of the European part of Russia and we assume that it has much wider distribution.

The comprehension of anomalous “strings” is frequently explained in terms of their “reduction” to grammatical and literal interpretations. Although degree of departure from grammaticality (a form of anomaly) is a potent psychological variable, the actual interpretability of anomalies has not been examined.

Traumatic Microhemorrhages Are Not Synonymous With Axonal Injury
ABSTRACT Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is caused by acceleration‐deceleration forces during trauma that shear white matter tracts. Susceptibility‐weighted MRI (SWI) identifies microbleeds that are considered the radiologic hallmark of DAI and are used in clinical prognostication.

In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐
