Does ESG Performance Reduce Default Risk in Insurance Firms? Evidence From Life and Non‐Life Sectors

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.

Regeneration failure, fire, topography, and climate interact to drive temperate wet forest landscapes into fire traps

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Where early successional forests are more flammable than old‐growth forests, forested landscapes are vulnerable to shifting into ‘fire traps' through positive feedbacks, where fire leads to more fire. These feedbacks are amplified by increased flammability driven by climate change, the presence of non‐native flammable plant species, and slowed ...

John and the Synoptic Gospels. What John Knew and What John Used

open access: yesPerichoresis: The Theological Journal of Emanuel University
The relationship of John’s Gospel to the Synoptics Gospels is difficult to explain. That is the reason why there have been many proposals, even from the beginning of the church. Not even today, scholars have reached consensus.

Copper‐Catalyzed α‐Carbamoylation of Cyclic β‐Ketoesters

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Cu(II) salt‐catalyzed reaction of cyclic β‐ketoesters with isocyanates afforded hitherto inaccessible α‐substituted β,β’‐dicarbonyl amides possessing an all‐carbon quaternary center. A copper‐catalyzed, base‐free α‐carbamoylation of cyclic β‐ketoesters with isocyanates has been developed.

Observational evidence of the relationship between the tropical tropopause and tropical easterly jet streams over the Indian monsoon region

open access: yesAtmospheric Science Letters
This paper presents the first quantitative relationship between the cold point tropopause (CPT) and tropical easterly jet (TEJ) using radiosonde observations over Gadanki (13.45° N, 79.2° E) during the Indian summer monsoon season 2006–2014.

Epileptic arousals: A neglected clinical entity

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Epileptic arousals (EAs) are seizures characterized solely by arousal from sleep. EAs are unrecognized in current seizure classifications. Their subtle semiology and inconsistently detectable ictal activity in scalp electroencephalography (EEG) complicate differentiation from physiological arousals (PAs). This study characterizes EAs

Atmospheric circulation anomalies in dry and wet winters in Greece

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 1993
The synoptic condition during the very dry winter of 1989 in Greece and most Europe is at first described. Similarly, the synoptic condition is investigated for the upper and lower decile of January rainfall, using Athens rainfall for its long record ...

Research progress on the use of the optical coherence tomography system for the diagnosis and treatment of central nervous system tumors

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 3-18, Spring 2025.
With the advantages of high‐resolution imaging, efficient image acquisition, intraoperative real‐time detection, and radiation‐free and noninvasive characteristics, optical coherence tomography (OCT) provides accurate diagnosis and effective intraoperative guidance for the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of central nervous system (CNS ...
