An observational philosophy for GEOS-C satellite altimetry [PDF]
The parameters necessary for obtaining a 10 cm accuracy for GEOS-C satellite altimetry are outlined. These data include oceanographic parameters, instrument calibration, pulse propagation, sea surface effects, and optimum ...

Lagrangian study of transport and mixing in a mesoscale eddy street
We use dynamical systems approach and Lagrangian tools to study surface transport and mixing of water masses in a selected coastal region of the Japan Sea with moving mesoscale eddies associated with the Primorskoye Current.

A 2‐h shift in the timing of evening observations in 1971 resulted in a discontinuity in the estimation of daily means of air temperature and humidity across all climate stations in Austria. This study employs hourly observations to, for the first time, comprehensively quantify and correct this break.

Significant trends of precipitation totals are visible at seasonal (negative in spring and positive in winter) and monthly level. The deepening rainfall deficit in April in Western Sudetes threatens the stabilisation of forest ecosystems, the preservation of biodiversity and significantly limits water resources for economic use.
