Syntaxonomy: A Source of Useful Fuzzy Sets for Environmental Analysis?

The use of vegetation types defined in syntaxonomical research is proposed for environmental analysis on the basis of fuzzy set theory. An example with data of a relatively simple environmental system is discussed.
