Distribution patterns, floristic structure and habitat requirements of the alpine river plant community Stuckenietum amblyphyllae ass. nova (Potametea) in the Pamir Alai Mountains (Tajikistan)

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2012
This paper discusses the floristic structure, distribution and habitat requirements of a new aquatic syntaxon, Stuckenietum amblyphyllae ass. nova. Patches of the Stuckenietum amblyphyllae association occur in the Pamir Alai Mountains in Middle Asia ...

Floristic regional subdivision and syntaxonomy

open access: yesVegetation of Russia, 2003
The advantages of using floristic subdivision of the area for syntaxonomic purposes are discussed. The analysis of changes in floristic composition of East-European broad-leaved forest communities along the West-East continentality gradient shows that floristic differences between the adjacent provinces correspond to changes in species composition at ...

Classification of the high‐rank syntaxa of the Central and Eastern Balkan dry grasslands with a new hierarchical expert system approach

open access: yesApplied Vegetation Science, Volume 27, Issue 2, April/June 2024.
We classified the dry grasslands of the Central and Eastern Balkan Peninsula with a large dataset and a new classification approach, called iterative cluster optimisation for hierarchical expert systems (ICO‐HES). We distinguish and describe 12 alliances, placed in eight orders and four classes, with one alliance and one order new to science.

The concept of vegetation class and order in phytosociological syntaxonomy [PDF]

open access: yesVegetation Classification and Survey, 2020
In order to stabilize the defining concepts of the higher rank syntaxonomic units such as class or order, the criteria of floristic content and unity of origin are enunciated. This is done with the aim of preventing the fragmentation of the large classes and the subsequent typological inflation.

«Green Book»: levels of functioning, syntaxonomy, structuring

open access: yesUkrainian Journal of Forest and Wood Science, 2021
The study of phytocenotic diversity in the light of modern scientific concepts of its preservation is now a new and to some extent holistic worldview of this global problem for humanity. According to the panphytocenocentric concept, its solution should be carried out at the local, regional, national and international levels.
