Recurrence Formulas for Fast Creation of Synthetic Three-Dimensional Holograms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
A method for accelerating the synthesis of computer-generated three-dimensional (3-D) holograms, based on conventional ray tracing, is proposed. In ray tracing, computers expend almost all of their resources in calculating the 3-D distances between each ...

Field-portable pixel super-resolution colour microscope. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Based on partially-coherent digital in-line holography, we report a field-portable microscope that can render lensfree colour images over a wide field-of-view of e.g., >20 mm(2).

Real‐Time, Label‐Free Classification of Cell Death Pathways via Holotomography‐Based Deep Learning Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A 3D holotomography system coupled with a deep learning model distinguishes how cells die—apoptosis, necroptosis or necrosis—without any fluorescent labels. Training on refractive index maps of HeLa cells yields 97% accuracy and flags necroptosis hours before chemical dyes.

A study of digital holographic filter generation [PDF]

open access: yes
Problems associated with digital computer generation of holograms are discussed along with a criteria for producing optimum digital holograms. This criteria revolves around amplitude resolution and spatial frequency limitations induced by the computer ...

Stimulus-responsive colloidal sensors with fast holographic readout

open access: yes, 2015
Colloidal spheres synthesized from polymer gels swell by absorbing molecules from solution. The resulting change in size can be monitored with nanometer precision using holographic video microscopy. When the absorbate is chemically similar to the polymer

Metasurfaces and Metadevices for Topological Electromagnetic Waves

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Optical topologies refer to diverse topological localized structures made by diverse parameters of light fields, such as vortices, skyrmions, and hopfions. This article navigates a direction of metasurface‐based integrated devices for generation, manipulation and detection of novel topologies of light, which would be a rapidly growing interdisciplinary

Induction Mapping of the 3D-Modulated Spin Texture of Skyrmions in Thin Helimagnets

open access: yes, 2018
Envisaged applications of skyrmions in magnetic memory and logic devices crucially depend on the stability and mobility of these topologically non-trivial magnetic textures in thin films.

Synthesized femtosecond laser pulse source for two-wavelength contouring with simultaneously recorded digital holograms

open access: yesOptics Express, 2009
A dual-wavelength femtosecond laser pulse source and its application for digital holographic single-shot contouring are presented. The synthesized laser source combines sub-picosecond time scales with a wide reconstruction range. A center wavelength distance of the two separated pulses of only 15 nm with a high contrast was demonstrated by spectral ...
