Synthetic seco Forms of (−)-Diazonamide A

Angewandte Chemie, 2001
One bond and a water molecule separate title compound 1 from the potently bioactive peptide metabolite diazonamide A. Compositionally similar, yet topographically distinct, diazonamide A and 1 are both toxic towards cultured human cancer cells although the mechanisms underlying their actions likely differ.

Potent double prodrug forms of synthetic phosphoantigens

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 2020
Phosphoantigens are ligands of BTN3A1 that stimulate anti-cancer functions of γδ T cells, yet the potency of natural phosphoantigens is limited by low cell permeability and low metabolic stability. Derivatives of BTN3A1 ligand prodrugs were synthesized that contain an acetate-protected allylic alcohol and act as doubly protected prodrugs.

Differential Forms in Synthetic Differential Supergeometry

International Journal of Theoretical Physics, 1999
In this note, the definition of superdifferential forms in a super microlinear space is given. Exterior differentiation, Lie derivative and the Cartan formula relating them are described, as well as a De Rham theorem in that framework. Familiarity with synthetic differential geometry, as understood for instance in [\textit{R.

Toward a Synthetic Measure of Good Settlement Form [PDF]

open access: possibleEnvironment and Planning B: Planning and Design, 1988
By discerning a gap existing in urban design/planning theories and methodologies, this paper develops a synthetic approach which sets out to link “functional” analysis on the one side and multivalented “normative” analysis of community design on the other.

Bilayer-Forming Synthetic Lipids: Drugs or Carriers?

Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2003
Since their introduction as bilayer-forming synthetic compounds in the eighties, dioctadecyldimethylammonium (DODA) and dihexadecylphosphate (DHP) salts have found many uses in strategic, applied areas. In particular, DODA chloride or bromide vesicles interacted with negatively charged prokaryotic or eukaryotic cells, yielding adsorption isotherms of ...

Calibrating a Synthetic Built Form Generator

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2009
A system for assigning space (buildings) to parcels to establish a base-year parcel-level description of built form is described. The system was applied repeatedly to Autauga County, Alabama, where a land use–transport interaction model is being developed.

A Perspective on Synthetic and Solid-Form Enablement of Inhalation Candidates

Future Medicinal Chemistry, 2011
The administration of compounds by a dry-powder inhaler presents significant challenges to the development and discovery chemist, owing to the stringent requirements placed upon the physical characteristics of the active pharmaceutical ingredient and the high complexity of the molecules concerned.

The synthetic polypentapeptide of elastin coacervates and forms filamentous aggregates

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure, 1974
Abstract The polypentapeptide, HCO-(ValProGlyValGly)nVal-OMe where 10 ⩽ n ⩽ 15 , is shown to coacervate, to do so in the same temperature range as α-elastin isolated from pig aorta, and to exhibit a nearly identical temperature profile for aggregation.

Synthetic carbohydrates form tunable nanostructures

C&EN Global Enterprise, 2019
Carbohydrates are abundant in nature, forming the basis of plant leaves and stems and the exoskeletons of marine organisms. But scientists don’t know a lot about the structures and functions of these molecules because naturally occurring variations in their structures make them hard to study.
