Controlled Movement of Soft Actuators using Multi‐Responsive Microgel Arrays and Microcirculatory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microscale hydrogels (microgels) feature improved mass transport characteristics supportive of fast actuation and chemical tunability amenable to programmed stimuli response. A unique soft actuator architecture is realized by encapsulating microgels in soft microcirculatory systems which enable the convenient delivery of liquid stimuli for powering and

Development of a Novel Device for the Perfusion Driven Decellularization of Skeletal Muscle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Decellularization of skeletal muscle is a process that removes cellular components of skeletal muscle tissue while leaving behind the intact extracellular matrix (ECM).

Smart Syringe Infusion Pump

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Research in Advanced Engineering, 2023
Delivery of fluids such as nutrients and medications into a patient’s body in a controlled environment is one of the essential prerequisites of a treatment that requires precise flow control. In manual liquid drug delivery systems, fluctuations may occur while operating by a nurse or hospital staff.

Bio‐Orthogonally Crosslinked Supramolecular Polymer Bottlebrush Hydrogels for Long‐Term 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.

C-FLAT: Control-FLow ATtestation for Embedded Systems Software

open access: yes, 2016
Remote attestation is a crucial security service particularly relevant to increasingly popular IoT (and other embedded) devices. It allows a trusted party (verifier) to learn the state of a remote, and potentially malware-infected, device (prover).

Contact Lens with Moiré Patterns for High‐Precision Eye Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a passive contact lens for high‐precision eye tracking, integrating a microscopic moiré grating label. The parallax‐induced shift of macroscopic moiré patterns enables angle measurement with 0.28° precision using a standard camera under ambient light.

Role of Histidine‐Containing Peptoids in Accelerating the Kinetics of Calcite Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic histidine‐containing peptoids mimic carbonic anhydrase (CA) to accelerate calcite step growth. In the presence of Zn2+, they promote the deprotonation of HCO3−, the desolvation of Ca2+, and the reorganization of interfacial hydration layers, thereby reducing the activation barrier for calcite growth.
