The production system

ACM SIGART Bulletin, 1977
The use of production systems as the primary method for encoding knowledge in large knowledge-based systems is discussed at two levels; their suitability as an architecture that can be efficiently supported and their appropriateness as a language of expression.

Production systems for waterfowl.

2012
AbstractDucks and geese, which represent up to 7% of world poultry production, are raised for meat production, eggs, foie gras, down and feathers. Asia represents more than 80% of total waterfowl production, with China being the most important, and Europe accounting for around 13%.

System Productivity Facility

IBM Systems Journal, 1981
This paper discusses the purpose and desig of a program called the System Productivity Facility (SPF). Perspective is provided by means of a brief summary of the earlier Structured Programming Facility (also termed SPF) and the requirements that led to a transformation of the earlier program into a new cross-system dialog manager.

Production Systems

2003
This chapter ties together ideas introduced in previous articles of this volume in the search for ways to use plant cell cultures as industrial production systems. The economics of a process must always be carefully considered when examining the suitability of plant cell culture for the manufacture of target compounds.

Asynchronous production systems

Knowledge-Based Systems, 1989
Intelligent computing systems for aerospace, robotics and process control applications require an integration of traditional expert system technologies with real-time response and control capabilities. To address such requirements, the Asynchronous Production System (APS) is presented, which is a rule-based inference engine capable of monitoring and ...

Production scheduling in database production systems

Systems Integration '90. Proceedings of the First International Conference on Systems Integration, 2002
A framework for parallelizing both matching and execution phases of a production system is presented. It is shown how concurrency causes new problems, which, if not handled carefully, can lead to inconsistent semantics. A new kind of data conflict is identified as the root cause of this problem.

Control of Production Systems

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1980
Abstract There has been formulated the problem of production system(SP)control. It comprises the control of various kinds of operations in SP, namely: production control, raw materials supply oontrol, products shipping control and control of repairs of production sections (ZP).

Valuation of increased production system performance by integrated production systems

Production Engineering, 2012
Since the 1990s a transition from mass production systems to integrated production systems has been taking place. Realising the potential of integrated production systems to reduce costs by avoiding waste, more and more companies follow the example of Toyota and try to increase their production systems’ performance by applying lean elements and methods.
