Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Permissible parameters for the circulation rate of the sludge mixture in airlift reactor-clarifier with suspended layer

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Factors affecting the permissible limits of sludge mixture circulation rate are given for airlift reactor-clarifier with a suspended layer. The upper limit of the circulation rate is justified as a function of some geometric dimensions of the bioreactor ...

Functional comparison of EncB and EncC cargo proteins in iron storage within the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...

architecture-building-systems/CityEnergyAnalyst: CityEnergyAnalyst v3.30.0

open access: yes, 2022
In this release, we cleaned up the GitHub Repository. Over the years, the CEA git repository has accumulated a lot of files in its git history, many of which we do not use anymore. We have reduced the size of the repository from 1.7GB to 0.7GB.

Experimental Study on Reducing Lateral Force on Circular Cylinder Using Strings

open access: yes한국해양공학회지, 2018
Recently, it was predicted that the size of offshore markets will grow as gas prices edge up. This paper presents experimental results for using strings as a suppression device on a circular cylinder and discusses the various data.

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.
