Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Packaging of micro-lens arrays to photonic integrated circuits using beam shape evaluation
We propose a method for aligning and attaching micro-lens arrays to photonic integrated circuits (PICs). Unlike the conventional approach of assessing power coupled to a fiber directly, our method utilizes a beam profiler.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A metacoupled approach to analyzing multiple shocks affecting multiple systems
Shocks have significant impacts on many aspects of coupled human and natural systems (e.g., countries), leading to various social, environmental, and economic effects.

Integrating Information Systems [PDF]
Businesses often have heterogeneous information systems which have diverse ‘meanings’ embedded in them. Consequently, systems have difficulties in talking to each other, and users cannot interact with them effectively. There are semantic barriers which inhibit a seamless flow of information and the ability to reuse knowledge.
