“The Way They Speak of Masters and Johnson”: The Rise and Disappearance of Sex Therapy, 1960–2000
ABSTRACT A keyword search of “sex therapy” in the New York Times shows a rapid rise for articles covering the discipline in the 1970s, an equally rapid reduction in the 1980s, and further decline in the 1990s and into the 2000s. This surprising inflection, given that sex as a marketable construction did not decline in the late 20th century, opens room ...

Approximation of complex q-Beta-Baskakov-Szász-Stancu operators in compact disk
The purpose this study is to present and investigate the qq-Beta-Baskakov-Szasz-Stancu operator. The operators are accompanied by Voronovskaja-type consequences, which include both an exact approximation order and a quantitative assessment, specifically ...

Asymptotic Properties for a General Class of Szász–Mirakjan–Durrmeyer Operators
ABSTRACT In this paper, we introduce a general family of Szász–Mirakjan–Durrmeyer type operators depending on an integer parameter j∈ℤ$$ j\in \mathbb{Z} $$. They can be viewed as a generalization of the Szász–Mirakjan–Durrmeyer operators, Phillips operators, and corresponding Kantorovich modifications of higher order.

Quantum decoherence dynamics of divacancy spins in silicon carbide
Long coherence times are key to the performance of quantum bits (qubits). Here, we experimentally and theoretically show that the Hahn-echo coherence time (T2) of electron spins associated with divacancy defects in 4H-SiC reaches 1.3 ms, one of the ...

Promises of change: Envisioning new lives in partner abuse intervention programs
Abstract How do interventions with violent offenders instill a desire for change? This article uses the case of partner abuse intervention to examine the discourses and subjectivities that emerge in intervention programs, as well as their potential impact on desistance from violence.

Stability of gas measures under perturbations and discretizations [PDF]
For a general class of gas models ---which includes discrete and continuous Gibbsian models as well as contour or polymer ensembles--- we determine a \emph{diluteness condition} that implies: (1) Uniqueness of the infinite-volume equilibrium measure; (2)

A Quantitative Analysis of 21st Century Skills: A Case of Semantic and Psychometric Overlap
ABSTRACT While the concept of 21st century skills has become omnipresent, there is little consistency regarding the terms, definitions, or measurement instruments used, causing a problem for personnel selection policies as well as education and training.

Nuclear pseudo-differential operators in Besov spaces on compact Lie groups
In this work we establish the metric approximation property for Besov spaces defined on arbitrary compact Lie groups. As a consequence of this fact, we investigate trace formulae for nuclear Fourier multipliers on Besov spaces.

Distant metastases of melanoma exhibit varying extent of intrapatient proteogenomic heterogeneity
Comprehensive proteogenomic profiling of post mortem melanoma metastases from patients with multiple lesions reveals the protein‐level mutation landscape and dominant phenotypes of distant metastases. The study uncovers varying levels of intrapatient heterogeneity, potentially associated with survival and therapeutic response.
