Aspirin hypersensitivity diagnostic index (AHDI): In vitro test for diagnosing of N-ERD based on urinary 15-oxo-ETE and LTE4 excretion. [PDF]

open access: yesAllergy
Plasma 15‐oxo‐ETE is higher in N‐ERD than in aspirin‐tolerant asthmatics or healthy subjects. Urinary LTE4 positively correlates with the Lund‐Mackay score in N‐ERD. Urinary 15‐oxo‐ETE is higher in women than in men. An index (AHDI) based on urinary LTE4 to 15‐oxo‐ETE ratio corrected for sex and Lund‐Mackay score predicts N‐ERD with sensitivity 82% and

The Effect of Starch and Magnetite on the Physicochemical Properties of Polyurethane Composites for Hyperthermia Treatment

open access: yesAdvances in Polymer Technology, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
In this study, modified polyurethanes (PUs) with starch and magnetite were synthesized in the form of scaffolds for potential applications in orthopedics. Polyurethanes were synthesized using a one‐step method. PU synthesis was carried out using poly(ε‐caprolactone) 2000 as soft segments and 4,4 ′‐methylenediphenyl diisocyanate (MDI).

Cycle Effects Are Not Universal: A Case Study of Urinary C-Reactive Protein Concentrations in Rural Polish and Polish American Samples. [PDF]

open access: yesAm J Hum Biol
ABSTRACT Objectives We need to better understand how the menstrual cycle interacts with other biological systems, such the inflammation and immune response. One way to study this interaction is through C‐reactive protein (CRP). Studies of CRP concentrations across the menstrual cycle have been inconsistent.
