Stable Sediment Plumes Despite Tidewater Glacier Retreat in a South Greenland Fjord

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Tidewater glaciers play a critical role in ice sheet mass loss and fjord hydrography, as meltwater runoff volume and injection depth can influence sediment transport, fjord circulation, and fjord stratification. As tidewater glaciers retreat and transition from marine‐ to land‐terminating, the impacts of shifting meltwater delivery depth on ...

CRISPR/Cas‐Mediated Gene Editing in Plant Immunity and Its Potential for the Future Development of Fungal, Oomycete, and Bacterial Pathogen‐Resistant Pulse Crops

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 7, Page 3573-3585, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Pulses provide myriad health benefits and are advantageous in an environmental context as a result of their leguminous nature. However, phytopathogenic fungi, oomycetes and bacteria pose a substantial threat to pulse production, at times leading to crop failure.

Recent Changes and Variability of Suspended Particulate Matter in European and Mediterranean Coastal Waters Inferred From OLCI Data

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM) plays a central role in coastal marine ecosystems, influencing light availability, primary production, and transport of sediments, nutrients, and pollutants. Monitoring its variability is essential for understanding the impacts of both natural and anthropogenic pressures on coastal regions.

Rhizosphere Microbiome as an Underexplored Resource for Agroecosystem Sustainability: Insights From the Carrot Root Zone

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 2, April 2026.
The diagram represents the generalised pathways for the ecological activities mediated by the rhizosphere microbiome within crop‐soil interactions, based on existing literature. The conceptual pathways are adapted for the carrot root‐zone context described in this review. These activities include the transformation of organic matter, promotion of plant

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 3, Page 637-667, March 2026.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...
