Abstract Precipitable water vapor (PWV) is an essential parameter for the study of weather and climate behavior. This work presents a novel regional classification of PWV regimes based on clustering techniques applied to Global Navigation Satellite System radio occultation‐derived and ERA5 reanalysis data with and without seasonal removal.

We assess the effect of sanitation felling performed in 2022 in North‐Eastern Italy on bark beetle damage that occurred in 2023 across eight spruce forest types, as evaluated using multispectral satellite imagery. Bark beetle damage was reduced only at very high or very low sanitation felling rates.
