Knowledge Graphs and Critical Infrastructures: Friends or Foes?

open access: yesWIREs Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Volume 16, Issue 2, June 2026.
Conceptual overview of Knowledge Graph integration in Critical Infrastructures, illustrating interconnected systems, data flows, and their role in enhancing resilience and operational intelligence. ABSTRACT Knowledge Graphs (KGs) are a natural evolution of data models representing and connecting data in a network of nodes and relations.

The First Archaeomagnetic Age at Tiwanaku and Implications for Dating Andean Metallurgical Furnaces

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 317-329, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents the first archaeomagnetic dating at Tiwanaku (Andean Altiplano). We compared the geomagnetic field values recorded by a metallurgical furnace against an updated SHAWQ2k‐SH global model and a regional intensity curve, both of which include, for the first time, high‐quality intensity data from the Southern Hemisphere. Induction of systemic and mucosal immune response against Zika virus by vaccination with non-infectious chimeric VLPs

open access: yesScientific Reports
The Zika virus (ZIKV) causes acute febrile illness and can lead to complications such as Guillain-Barré syndrome and congenital disorders. As arbovirus outbreaks increase, vaccination becomes a crucial preventive strategy.

A Method to Improve the Analysis of Cluster Ensembles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Clustering is fundamental to understand the structure of data. In the past decade the cluster ensembleproblem has been introduced, which combines a set of partitions (an ensemble) of the data to obtain a singleconsensus solution that outperforms all the ...

Policy, Waste, and Power: Textile Dumping in Chile's Atacama Desert

open access: yesLatin American Policy, Volume 17, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Globally, 87% of textile fibers end up incinerated or in landfills, with Chile bearing the brunt of this crisis. Every year, 39,000 tons of discarded clothing are illegally dumped in the Atacama Desert, turning it into a sacrifice zone for the Global North's waste economy.

Phosphate starvation induces root cell‐type‐specific transcriptional responses and alternative splicing

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 5, Page 3212-3229, June 2026.
Summary Phosphate (Pi) is an essential nutrient for plant growth, and understanding how Arabidopsis thaliana root cells respond to Pi deficiency is crucial to decipher whole plant responses. We perform high‐resolution transcriptomic profiling across five distinct root cell types, identifying differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and differential ...

Bypassing Oxidative Addition: Steric Control in Aryl Iodide Activation at Rh(I) Promotes an Open‐Shell Rh(II) Pathway

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 5, May 2026.
Steric hindrance in a bulky PCP pincer complex switches Rh(I) aryl‐iodide activation from the classical two‐electron oxidative addition route to a one‐electron pathway, yielding a paramagnetic RhIII complex and the aryl radical. The latter reacts with benzene to form biphenyl and a Rh(III) hydride.
