T-pattern detection and analysis for the discovery of hidden features of behaviour

Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 2018
The behaviour of all living beings consists of hidden patterns in time; consequently, its nature and its underlying dynamics are intrinsically difficult to be perceived and detected by the unaided observer.Such a scientific challenge calls for improved means of detection, data handling and analysis.

Using temporal patterns (t-patterns) to derive stress factors of routine tasks

CHI '09 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2009
We describe the use of a statistical technique called T-pattern analysis to derive and characterize the routineness of tasks. T-patterns provide significant advantages over traditional sequence analyses by incorporating time. A T-pattern is characterized by a significant time window (critical interval) that describes the duration of this pattern.

A method to select patients for vertical scar or inverted-T pattern breast reduction

Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, 2008
Vertical scar breast reduction (VSBR) is an increasingly popular technique but can carry a high complication and revision rate. We evaluate our complication rate when selecting patients for VSBR or inverted-T breast reductions (ITBR). We looked at 133 consecutive primary bilateral breast reductions performed by a single consultant from 1998 to 2003 (23

An Incremental Anytime Algorithm for Mining T-Patterns from Event Streams

2018
Temporal patterns that capture frequent time differences occurring between items in a sequence are gaining increasing attention as a growing research area. Time-interval sequential patterns (also known as T-Patterns) not only capture the order of symbols but also the time delay between symbols, where the time delay is specified as a time-interval ...
