Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

In-plane mixed-mode brittle fracture assessment of Harsin marble using HCSP specimen

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity
The primary objective of this manuscript is studying the effect of T-stress term (T) on the crack propagation angle (CPA) and fracture toughness of in-plane mixed mode loading by utilizing a generalized form of minimum strain energy density (SED ...

Personalized Selumetinib Dosing in Pediatric Neurofibromatosis Type 1: Insights From a Pilot Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

Adherence to Protocol Recommendations for Children With Wilms Tumour in Two Consecutive Studies in the United Kingdom and Ireland—Does Variation Matter?

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Wilms tumour (WT) has excellent event‐free and overall survival (OS). However, small differences exist between countries participating in the same international study. This led us to examine variation in adherence to protocol recommendations as a potential contributing factor.

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Development and validation of a high constraint modified boundary layer finite element model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
When a notched structure is loaded, its behaviour is not only affected by the material properties but also by the geometry (of both the structure and the defect) and loading condition, alternatively termed as constraint condition. Therefore, the relation

Geometry functions for edge cracks in steel bridge under three- and four- point bending with various span [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Fatigue cracks are found during the regular structural inspections. To precisely describe/suggest propagation of fatigue cracks throughout structure and it’s designed service life, the knowledge of geometry functions describing the stress situation ...

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Exploring the Impact of Salicylic Acid and Farmyard Manure on Soil Rhizospheric Properties and Cadmium Stress Alleviation in Maize (Zea mays L.)

open access: yesPlants, 2023
Cadmium (Cd) pollution is a growing environmental problem that negatively impacts plant growth and development, particularly in maize. In this research, the impact of farmyard manure (FYM) and salicylic acid (SA) on rhizospheric characteristics and the ...

T-stress of Concrete under Four-point Bending

open access: yesProceedings of the 9th International Conference on Fracture Mechanics of Concrete and Concrete Structures, 2016
Mixed mode stress-intensity factors (SIFs) and the T-stress for different geometries of four-point bending specimens were calculated by means of finite element analysis through a software suite Abaqus, where the influence of the loading point and crack location were considered.
