Inappropriate Detection of Ventricular Fibrillation in the Presence of T‐Wave Oversensing Algorithm

Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 2014
A 64-year-old man was implanted with a cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (Protecta, Medtronic Inc., Minneapolis, MN, USA) for the primary prevention of sudden cardiac death due to ischemic cardiomyopathy and refractory heart failure. The patient presented following a shock from his device during physical activity without any preceding ...

Inappropriate ICD Shocks caused by T-wave Oversensing due to Acute Alcohol Intoxication [PDF]

open access: yesPACE - Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 2012
T‐wave oversensing can be a serious problem that often results in inappropriate device therapy. We report here a patient with binge alcohol use who received multiple, inappropriate ICD shocks due to T‐wave oversensing from repolarization changes induced by acute alcohol intoxication and no other relevant metabolic derangements.

A Case of Palpitations Due to T-Wave Oversensing Caused by Sacubitril/Valsartan

Canadian Journal of Cardiology, 2018
A 58-year-old man with previous mitral/aortic mechanical-valve replacement, aortic root repair, and coronary disease developed severe left-ventricular dysfunction following AV-node ablation/single-chamber pacemaker implantation for management of atrial fibrillation. He then underwent an upgrade to cardiac resynchronization therapy with a defibrillator.

T-Wave Oversensing in Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators Is Due to Technical Failure of Device Sensing

Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, 2006
The expanded indications for the use of implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) for primary prevention of sudden cardiac death have increased concerns about inappropriate delivery of therapies. Dual‐chamber systems have improved the capacity of ICDs to differentiate ventricular arrhythmias from supraventricular arrhythmias.

Inappropriate Discharges From an Intravenous Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator Due to T-Wave Oversensing

open access: yesJapanese Circulation Journal, 2001
This report describes the clinical management of 2 patients with ventricular fibrillation (VF) who received inappropriate shocks from an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) due to T-wave oversensing. Cardiac sarcoidosis was confirmed as the underlying heart disease in 1 patient and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy in the other.

Inappropriate ICD Discharge Due to T-Wave Oversensing in a Patient with Short QT Syndrome

PACE - Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 2010
A 45-year-old man with diagnosis of short QT syndrome underwent successful implantation of dual-chamber implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) to prevent sudden cardiac death. Ten days after implantation, the patient was treated by inappropriate ICD discharges for frequent T-wave oversensing.

Partial Inhibition of Ongoing Antitachycardia Pacing Sequence Due to T‐Wave Oversensing

Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 2008
We describe a case of partial inhibition of ongoing antitachycardia pacing scheme in an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) recipient with heart failure of ischemic etiology. The cause of inhibition was related to intermittent oversensing of paced T wave and sensing of intrinsic ventricular activation.

A simple pacing maneuver to overcome T-wave oversensing and ensure complete biventricular pacing

International Journal of Cardiology, 2014
I have read with great interest the article entitled ‘Loss of biventricular pacing due to T wave oversensing: Case report and review of the literature’ by Korantzopoulos et al. [1]. They have represented a case with the loss of biventricular pacing due to T-wave oversensing (TWOS) and the restoration of biventricular pacing was accompanied by lowering ...

[Avoidance of intermittent T-wave oversensing with device programming].

Herzschrittmachertherapie & Elektrophysiologie, 2006
We report the case of a 35-year-old man who was suffering from severe heart failure due to cardiomyopathy. He underwent heart transplantation years ago and developed complex ventricular arrhythmias in the following months in combination with recurrent episodes of syncope due to hypertrophic non-obstructive cardiomyopathy in the transplanted heart, so a
