Intermittent failure of pacing output caused by algorithm to prevent T-wave oversensing. [PDF]

open access: yesHeartRhythm Case Rep, 2016
Oversensing of extracardiac myopotentials can lead to pacemaker inhibition and loss of cardiac output. We describe 2 similar cases in which oversensing of myopotentials and loss of pacemaker output in pacemaker-dependent patients was caused by a proprietary algorithm designed to prevent T-wave sensing.

Postural change-dependent T-wave oversensing resulting in the administration of inappropriate shocks [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2012
A 68-year-old man with dilated cardiomyopathy (left ventricular ejection fraction, 15%) and nonsustained ventricular tachycardia received an implantable cardioverter defibrillator. Even though his cardiac status had greatly improved 2 years later after β-

Hyperglycemia-Induced T-Wave Oversensing as a Cause of Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) Failure [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Tehran University Heart Center, 2012
T-wave oversensing occurs when the counter starts giving dual beeps for every cardiac cycle instead of one. This usually happens when the monitoring lead displays a tall T wave, which is also sharp. R wave sensing algorithms of the devices do not sense T

Lead Integrity Alert Triggered by T-wave Oversensing. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Innov Card Rhythm Manag, 2020
T-wave oversensing (TWOS) is a relatively common occurrence in pacemakers and defibrillators that can lead to pauses and inappropriate implantable cardioverter-defibrillator shocks. We present a case of TWOS that triggered the Lead Integrity Alert (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN, USA) without evidence of actual lead failure.

Transient T-wave oversensing as a result of COVID-19: a case report. [PDF]

open access: yesBr J Cardiol
This case report explores the effects of myocarditis induced by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on a cardiac implanted electronic device (CIED) and its ability to differentiate depolarisation and repolarisation. Through the modification of the device settings, inappropriate CIED discharges were prevented for the duration of the illness in this 76 ...
