INFLUENCE OF PROGESTOGEN THERAPY ON T LYMPHOCYTE SUBSETS
Acta Pathologica Microbiologica Scandinavica Series C: Immunology, 2009The distribution of T lymphocyte subsets was determined in 22 patients with endometrial carcinoma stage 1. Following surgery and postoperative radiotherapy the patients had been "randomized" into two groups: group A patients received no further treatment, whereas group B patients were treated with 17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate for one year.

T-lymphocyte subsets in experimental autoimmune uveitis
Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology, 1985The dynamic changes of the lymphocyte subsets in the inflamed ocular tissue in Lewis rats with experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU) were studied by immunohistopathological evaluation at varying intervals after initiation of the disease. Monoclonal antibodies to specific markers of the rat T-helper/inducer lymphocyte (W3/25) and T-suppressor/cytotoxic ...

Differential Regulation of Murine T Lymphocyte Subsets
Annual Review of Immunology, 1993Signaling pathways in T lymphocytes have been incompletely characterized. It is evident that differences exist among the T cell subsets. We have defined several distinct mechanisms that affect differentially the activities of murine T lymphocyte clones representing various CD4+ and CD8+ subsets: Interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) inhibits proliferation of ...

T-lymphocyte Subsets in Occupationally Exposed Persons
International Journal of Radiation Biology, 1990The percentage of CD2+, CD4+, CD8+ and HNK-1+ cells in peripheral blood was investigated in persons occupationally exposed to very low doses of ionizing radiation. Investigations were carried out by monoclonal antibodies and flow cytometry. While significant effects of age and smoking habits on the relative number of CD8 cells and CD4/CD8 ratios could ...

Regulation of T lymphocyte subsets.
Ciba Foundation symposium, 1996Patterns of cytokine secretion and functional differences distinguish T lymphocyte subsets. T lymphocyte subsets are also regulated differentially. Most established CD8+ lymphocyte clones secrete gamma-interferon (IFN-gamma) but not interleukin 2 (IL-2) or IL-4.

Renewal rates of murine T-lymphocyte subsets
Cellular Immunology, 1990The proliferative dynamics of T-cell subsets in lymphoid organs of BALB/c mice have been evaluated by means of [3H]thymidine injections for up to 3 days, followed by FACS and autoradiography. In the thymus, cells positive for both CD4 and CD8 antigens were more rapidly renewed than single-positive cells.

T-lymphocyte subsets in idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy
The American Journal of Cardiology, 1985Idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDC) is a common clinical problem in Africa. To determine if there is a defect of immune regulation in patients with IDC, the percentage of total T-cells (OKT3 positive), helper/inducer cells (OKT4 positive) and suppressor/cytotoxic cells (OKT8 positive) were measured using monoclonal antibodies in 20 patients with ...

Abnormal T-Lymphocyte Subsets in Type I Diabetes
Diabetes, 1989Type I (insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus is a slow autoimmune disease associated with the selective destruction of β-cells in the islets of Langerhans. Recent studies in humans indicate that autoantibodies to insulin and islets of Langerhans appear years before overt diabetes and identify a normoglycemic prediabetic state. To determine whether type

Human T-Lymphocyte Subsets and T-T Hybridomas
1985Unlike B lymphocytes which have a single major function, the secretion of antibody, T lymphocytes mediate a variety of immunologic and nonimmunologic functions. Human T cells can be divided into several distinct cell types or subsets, which interact through cell surface molecules with one another, monocytes, and B cells to generate and regulate ...
