Optical Monitoring of T Tauri Stars [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1983
At the Van Vleck Observatory of Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut, we have initiated a program of monitoring T Tauri stars with the 24-inch reflector (Perkin Telescope). During the first observing season, we have obtained UBVRI and Hα (30Å and 150Å) data for five stars: T Tau, RY Tau, SU Aur, RW Aur, and CO Ori.

JWST/MIRI Detection of a Carbon-rich Chemistry in the Disk of a Solar Nebula Analog

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
It has been proposed, and confirmed by multiple observations, that disks around low-mass stars display a molecule-rich emission and carbon-rich disk chemistry as compared to their hotter, more massive solar counterparts.

Properties of the Winds of T Tauri Stars [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1997
The properties of Classical T Tauri (TTS) winds - their mass loss rate, temperature, origin, and energetics - are reviewed and interpreted in terms of the most recent observational evidence. TTS winds seem to have their origin in the disk and are powered by accretion. Most TTS have Ṁω ≤ 10–9Mʘ yr–1 and Ṁω/Ṁ ∼ 0.1, with T ∼ 104K.

Using the Ca ii Lines in T Tauri Stars to Infer the Abundance of Refractory Elements in the Innermost Disk Region

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a study of the abundance of calcium in the innermost disk of 70 T Tauri stars in the star-forming regions of Chamaeleon I, Lupus, and Orion OB1b. We use calcium as a proxy for the refractory material that reaches the inner disk.
