Magnetic Fields of T Tauri Stars [PDF]
The magnetic field strengths of several T Tauri stars are derived by measuring the width of unblended Fe I lines of high and low values of geff·λ2 using the autocorrelation function. The T Tauri stars were selected for their low values of v · sin i, and large strengths of the Ca II emission component.

Abstract This article uses election addresses to consider how the early women parliamentary candidates sought to make their case to English voters. It then explores the insights that Mass Observation's election surveys offer into public attitudes to women politicians, and gender and political leadership more broadly, from the late 1930s to the early ...

Eleanor Coade and Horace Walpole's Gothic Gateway: A Study in Eighteenth‐Century Business Practice
Abstract Artificial stone manufacturer Eleanor Coade (1733–1821) was the outstanding female entrepreneur of the eighteenth century, running her own successful business for some fifty years. Her name became a nationally recognized brand, and her firm's architectural and sculptural stoneware products are still ubiquitous.

The infrared properties of the new outburst star IRAS 05436-0007 in quiescent phase
We compiled and investigated the infrared/sub-mm/mm SED of the new outburst star IRAS 05436-0007 in quiescent phase. The star is a flat-spectrum source, with an estimated total luminosity of L_bol ~ 5.6 L_sun, typical of low-mass T Tauri stars.

Detection of Strong Millimeter Emission from the Circumstellar Dust Disk Around V1094 Sco: Cold and Massive Disk around a T Tauri Star in a Quiescent Accretion Phase? [PDF]
We present the discovery of a cold massive dust disk around the T Tauri star V1094 Sco in the Lupus molecular cloud from the 1.1 millimeter continuum observations with AzTEC on ASTE.

Adaptation of Marine Heterotrophic Protists to Long‐Term Warming Selection
Our study unraveled profitable adaptations of marine protozoa to long‐term warming. The optimal temperature, maximum growth rates, cell homeostasis, and cell size significantly increased after warming adaptation, suggesting a resilient future for this functional group.

X-Ray Irradiation of the Giant Planet Orbiting the T Tauri Star TAP 26
We present new Chandra X-ray observations of TAP 26, a ≈17 Myr old magnetically active weak-lined T Tauri star that has been reported to host a massive planet in a ≈10.8 day orbit.

Anisotropic Ionizing Illumination from an M-type Pre-main-sequence Star, DM Tau
The powerful, high-energy magnetic activities of young stars play important roles in the magnetohydrodynamics in the innermost parts of the protoplanetary disks. In addition, the associated UV and X-ray emission dictates the photochemistry; moreover, the
