Observational clues to the physics at the magnetosphere in young stellar objects

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
Classical T Tauri stars offer an excellent laboratory to study the accretion process and star-disk interaction, which define the transfer of mass and angular momentum in the system. The interaction takes place very close to the star, in a region of about

Properties of the Winds of T Tauri Stars [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1997
The properties of Classical T Tauri (TTS) winds - their mass loss rate, temperature, origin, and energetics - are reviewed and interpreted in terms of the most recent observational evidence. TTS winds seem to have their origin in the disk and are powered by accretion. Most TTS have Ṁω ≤ 10–9Mʘ yr–1 and Ṁω/Ṁ ∼ 0.1, with T ∼ 104K.

Chandra Resolves the T Tauri Binary System RW Aur

open access: yes, 2014
RW Aur is a multiple T Tauri system consisting of an early-K type primary (A) and a K5 companion (B) at a separation of 1.4 arcsec. RW Aur A drives a bipolar optical jet that is well-characterized optically.

Simultaneous Far-ultraviolet and Near-ultraviolet Observations of T Tauri Stars with UVIT/AstroSat: Probing the Accretion Process in Young Stars

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present results from simultaneous far-ultraviolet (FUV) and near-ultraviolet (NUV) observations of T Tauri stars (TTSs) in the Taurus molecular cloud with UVIT/AstroSat. This is the very first UVIT study of TTSs.

The magnetosphere of the close accreting PMS binary V4046 Sgr

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
V4046 Sagittarii AB is a close short-period classical T Tauri binary. It is a circularised and synchronised system accreting from a circumbinary disk.
