On the structures of the penduflorines from Tabernaemontana penduliflora
The structures of the recently published monoterpene indole alkaloids penduflorines A and B (1a and 1b), isolated from Tabernaemontana penduliflora (Apocynaceae), have been revised. Rather than an inseparable mixture of two compounds, they appear to be the known alkaloid vobasine (2).

Tabernaemontana catharinensis: A Source of Indole Alkaloids With Potential Activity as Chemotherapeutic Agents. [PDF]
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the antitumor activity of fractions rich in indole alkaloids extracted from the leaves of the species Tabernaemontana catharinensis. The chemical composition was analyzed using high‐resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), which identified nine known indole alkaloids, including voacangine, voacangine hydroxyindolenine,

Stereochemical insights into sarpagan and akuammiline alkaloid biosynthesis. [PDF]
Summary Sarpagan and akuammiline monoterpenoid indole alkaloids (MIAs) are a class of bioactive plant‐derived compounds with significant pharmaceutical potential. These alkaloids are formed through oxidative cyclization of geissoschizine, catalyzed by homologous cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (CYP) known as sarpagan bridge enzymes (SBEs) and rhazimal ...

Insecticidal Activity of Trichilia hirta L. (Sapindales: Meliaceae) Extracts Against Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) Larvae and the Identification of Bioactive Compounds. [PDF]
Fruits of Trichilia hirta were extracted and fractionated according to solvent polarity. The resulting partitions were screened for insecticidal activity by evaluating larval mortality and weight after 7 and 14 days. LC‐MS analysis of the most active fraction enabled the annotation of secondary metabolites potentially associated with the observed ...
