Verbal Transformations of “Stabilized” Taboo and Neutral Words
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1974To test the “arousal” hypothesis that physiological and/or psychological “arousal” maintains the perception of an auditory stimulus, a number of taboo and neutral words were repeated orally for 14 male and 14 female college students. Neutral words gave rise to more verbal transformation than taboo words.

This paper proposes the taboo words similarity browsing system which is able to assist the naming process. The proposed system in this paper analyzes new texts - new words or sentences - into phonemes, compares their similarities of pronunciations between new words and taboo words from various language cultural areas.

Abstract This chapter addresses speakers’ use of emotionally hurtful words and their victims’ emotional responses to hurtful words in American English. Hurtful words are defined here as negatively valenced or bad words used to express one’s feelings and convey those feelings to others.

Abstract In this chapter, it is investigated to what extent Dutch influenced other languages’ maledicticons, i.e., taboo-language usage such as swearwords, insults, euphemisms and dysphemisms, impolite language, etc. (collectively called maledicta).

2020Dalam skripsi ini dibahas tentang kata tabu yang ditemukan dalam lirik lagu Eminem.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis tipe-tipe kata tabu berdasarkan maknanya dan mengidentifikasi fungsi tabu yang ditemukan dalam lagu-lagu Eminem yaitu The Ringer, Lucky You, Fall dan Kamikaze.
