Short- and long-term experience in pulmonary vein segmental ostial ablation for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation* [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Introduction: Segmental ostial pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) is considered a potentially curative therapeutic approach in the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF).

Force‐sensing catheters during pediatric radiofrequency ablation: The FEDERATION Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background Based on data from studies of atrial fibrillation ablations, optimal parameters for the TactiCath (TC; St. Jude Medical, Inc) force‐sensing ablation catheter are a contact force of 20 g and a force‐time integral of 400

Paroxysmal Tachycardia [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation, 1950
An interesting case of recurrent paroxysmal tachycardia is presented. The patient had had a previous coronary thrombosis, leaving in its wake a residual left bundle branch block. Three episodes of paroxysmal tachycardia were observed, the longest one of sixty-three days' duration.

A practical guide to the updated seizure classification 2025

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper provides a practical guide to applying the updated seizure classification in clinical settings. The updated classification, published by the International League Against Epilepsy in 2025, builds on the operational classification introduced in 2017.

Atrial fibrillation with idiopathic right ventricular outflow tract ventricular tachycardia: A rare combination

open access: yesHeart India, 2016
A 32-year-old lady attended the outpatient door with the complaint of new-onset paroxysmal palpitation for the last 1 month. Her past medical history was not significant. There was no past history of cardiac illness. Her initial 12-lead electrocardiogram

ENCEVIS: Evaluating the feasibility of an AI‐based algorithm as an assistant to neurophysiologists in clinical practice

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study evaluated the performance of the ENCEVIS artificial intelligence (AI)‐based algorithm as a screening tool to predict the presence of ictal and/or interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs) in electroencephalography (EEG) recordings.

Pacemaker Prevention Therapy in Drug–refractory Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation: Reliability of Diagnostics and Effectiveness of Prevention Pacing Therapy in Vitatron™ Selection® device [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Introduction. Atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common and rising disorder of cardiac rhythm, is quite difficult to control and/or to treat. Non pharmacological therapies for AF may involve the use of dedicated pacing algorithms to detect and prevent ...

A clinical approach to arrhythmias revisited in 2018 : from ECG over noninvasive and invasive electrophysiology to advanced imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Understanding arrhythmias and their treatment is not always easy. The current straightforward approach with catheter ablation and device therapy is an amazing achievement, but does not make management of underlying or other cardiac disease and ...

Integrative Evidence From Metabolome‐Wide Mendelian Randomization and Animal Models Implicates Tyrosine in Cardiac Hypercontractility and Arrhythmia Risk

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
Plasma metabolome‐wide Mendelian randomization analysis established a causal link between tyrosine and arrhythmia. GWAS meta‐analysis identified tyrosine‐associated loci linked to cardiovascular risk factors. Animal studies confirmed that oral tyrosine intake modulates heart rhythm via adrenergic signaling activation.

Incidence and predictors of premature ventricular complexes following catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
BACKGROUND: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia, and previous studies have focused on the epidemiology, mechanisms and risk factors for this global disease (Ryder and Benjamin 1999). Various studies have examined the mechanism,
