Fruit‐quality tradeoffs generate asymmetry in plant reliance on mutualistic frugivores

Seed dispersal is a fundamental ecological process influencing the evolution of plant life‐history strategies. In fleshy‐fruited plants dispersed by mutualistic frugivores, variation in fruit traits among closely related species may shape the temporal and spatial dynamics of dispersal events critical to population success.

Galactose‐Deficient Immunoglobulin A1 Predicts Immunoglobulin A Nephropathy Recurrence After Kidney Transplantation: A Single‐Center Retrospective Study

Serum galactose‐deficient IgA1 levels at 3 and 6 months predicted recurrent IgA nephropathy after kidney transplantation. Recipients without recurrence showed a rapid decline in galactose‐deficient IgA1 after transplantation. Early identification of recurrence risk provided a potential window for targeted post‐transplant intervention.

Combined application of Bacillus velezensis JDB15 and Trichoderma harzianum JDL4 suppresses banana Fusarium wilt under controlled conditions

The surfactin C secreted by JDB15 and the probable parasitism of JDL4 lead to the leakage of intracellular macromolecules and the degradation of hyphae, respectively. Combined application of the two strains effectively controls banana Fusarium wilt under controlled conditions.

Metabolome Diversity Enhances Resistance of Intertidal Clams to Thermal Stress

Meretrix species are widely distributed intertidal bivalves in China with significant ecological and economic importance, which are sensitive to thermal stress. Our results showed that thermal environments of clam habitats shaped metabolome diversity, which can enhance the resistance of intertidal clams to thermal stress.
