Anomalies & Tadpoles

open access: yes, 2000
We show that massless RR tadpoles in vacuum configurations with open and unoriented strings are always related to anomalies. RR tadpoles arising from sectors of the internal SCFT with non-vanishing Witten index are in one-to-one correspondence with conventional irreducible anomalies.

LOCAL TADPOLE GALAXIES [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2012
Tadpole galaxies have a giant star-forming region at the end of an elongated intensity distribution. Here we use SDSS data to determine the ages, masses, and surface densities of the heads and tails in 14 local tadpoles selected from the Kiso and Michigan surveys of UV-bright galaxies, and we compare them to tadpoles previously studied in the Hubble ...

Ranid Herpesvirus 3 Infection in Common Frog Rana temporaria Tadpoles

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2023
Ranid herpesvirus 3 (RaHV3) is a recently discovered virus associated with skin disease in frogs. We detected RaHV3 DNA in free-ranging common frog (Rana temporaria) tadpoles, consistent with premetamorphic infection.

Computing Topological Indices and Polynomials for Line Graphs

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
A topological index is a number related to the atomic index that allows quantitative structure–action/property/toxicity connections. All the more vital topological indices correspond to certain physico-concoction properties like breaking point ...

Bilateral tadpole pupils [PDF]

open access: yesNeurology, 2016
A 19-year-old man with congenital erythropoietic protoporphyria and without family history or prior migraine attacks had recurrent seizures, which were controlled on propofol. Eye examination performed while awake revealed nonreacting bilateral tadpole pupils (TPs) (figure), without other neurologic deficits.

On the morphology of Plectrohyla chryses (Anura: Hylidae; Hylini), with comments on some controversial characters, phylogenetic relationships, and diagnosis of this species

open access: yesCaldasia, 2016
We describe the tadpole and juvenile of Plectrohyla chryses and conduct an analysis of skin thickness and a general phylogenetic analysis of the Hylini to determine the phylogenetic position of P. chryses. We found that P.

Modelling the connectome of a simple spinal cord

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroinformatics, 2011
In this paper we develop a computational model of the anatomy of a spinal cord. We address a long-standing ambition of neuroscience to understand the structure-function problem by modelling the complete spinal cord connectome map in the two-day old ...

Does a Moderately Warming Climate Compensate for the Negative Effects of UV-B Radiation on Amphibians at High Altitudes? A Test of Rana kukunoris Living on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau

open access: yesBiology, 2022
Both the warming climate and ultraviolet-B radiation (UVBR) are considered to be notable environmental factors affecting amphibian population decline, with particular effects on tadpole development.
