Microhabitat features determine the tadpole diversity in mountainous streams
The study on the mechanism driving the spatial patterns of biological diversity along elevational gradients is a main focus in ecology, biogeography, and conservation biology.

Tadpoles of two sympatric anurans, Bufo gargarizans Cantor, 1842 and Rana zhenhaiensis Ye, Fei & Matsui, 1995, were used as model organisms to examine the effects of different levels of tail loss on swimming performance and survival.

Analytic tadpole coefficients of one-loop integrals
One remaining problem of unitarity cut method for one-loop integral reduction is that tadpole coefficients can not be straightforward obtained through this way. In this paper, we reconsider the problem by applying differential operators over an auxiliary

Perturbative renormalisation of quark bilinear operators for overlap fermions with and without stout links and improved gauge action [PDF]
We calculate lattice renormalisation constants of local and one-link quark operators for overlap fermions and improved gauge actions in one-loop perturbation theory. For the local operators we stout smear the SU(3) links in the fermionic action.

We show that massless RR tadpoles in vacuum configurations with open and unoriented strings are always related to anomalies. RR tadpoles arising from sectors of the internal SCFT with non-vanishing Witten index are in one-to-one correspondence with conventional irreducible anomalies.

Reduced trophic resources can pose relevant constraints to the development of freshwater animals with complex life cycles. For amphibians, food deprived environments, such as high-altitude ponds and springs and groundwaters are frequently used for ...

Tadpole galaxies have a giant star-forming region at the end of an elongated intensity distribution. Here we use SDSS data to determine the ages, masses, and surface densities of the heads and tails in 14 local tadpoles selected from the Kiso and Michigan surveys of UV-bright galaxies, and we compare them to tadpoles previously studied in the Hubble ...

The tadpole of Odontophrynus salvatori Caramaschi, 1996 is described from Chapada dos Veadeiros, State of Goiás, Brazil. The tadpole resembles those of the genus Proceratophrys Miranda-Ribeiro, 1920, mostly by depressive body in lateral view, small body ...

Light Hadron Spectroscopy on Coarse Lattices with O(a^2) Mean-Field Improved Actions [PDF]
The masses and dispersions of light hadrons are calculated in lattice QCD using an O(a^2) tadpole-improved gluon action and an O(a^2) tadpole-improved next-nearest-neighbor fermion action originally proposed by Hamber and Wu.

Ranid Herpesvirus 3 Infection in Common Frog Rana temporaria Tadpoles
Ranid herpesvirus 3 (RaHV3) is a recently discovered virus associated with skin disease in frogs. We detected RaHV3 DNA in free-ranging common frog (Rana temporaria) tadpoles, consistent with premetamorphic infection.
