Multi-Output Regression with Tag Correlation Analysis for Effective Image Tagging
2014Automatic image tagging is one of the most important research topics in multimedia. How to achieve accurate image tagging to bridge the semantic gap between images' content and users' semantic understanding has been widely studied in the last decade. One common approach is to convert image tagging to a multi-task learning problem.

Age Effects in Tagging Communities
2013 International Conference on Cloud Computing and Big Data, 2013Age affects people's ideologies and behaviors. People in different ages have various online behavioral tendencies. This paper explores age differences in a tagging community. We developed a model of age differences and performed a relationship study between user's age and tagging behavior.

Artificial marking and tagging techniques have been used to study movement, population dynamics, behaviour, ecology, survival and growth of at least 25 syngnathid species. External necklace‐style tags and injection of visible implant elastomer have been the most used techniques, uniquely identifying hundreds of individual syngnathids to study ...

Journal of Biomolecular NMR, 2022
Flexibility between the paramagnetic tag and its protein conjugates is a common yet unresolved issue in the applications of paramagnetic NMR spectroscopy in biological systems. The flexibility greatly attenuates the magnetic anisotropy and compromises paramagnetic effects especially for pseudocontact shift and residual dipolar couplings.

Effective multi-dialectal arabic POS tagging
Natural Language Engineering, 2020AbstractThis work introduces robust multi-dialectal part of speech tagging trained on an annotated data set of Arabic tweets in four major dialect groups: Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf, and Maghrebi. We implement two different sequence tagging approaches. The first uses conditional random fields (CRFs), while the second combines word- and character-based ...

The effect of tag recognition on non-local adaptation
Proceedings of the 2004 Congress on Evolutionary Computation (IEEE Cat. No.04TH8753), 2005Populations of agents are evolved to perform noisy iterated prisoner's dilemma on a toroidal grid. The agents consist of a finite state machine specialized for playing iterated prisoner's dilemma with a simple tag recognition capability. The populations are allowed to evolve for 10,000 generations and the world is stored every 500 generations ...

Effects of artemisinin-tagged holotransferrin on cancer cells
Life Sciences, 2005Artemisinin reacts with iron to form free radicals that kill cells. Since cancer cells uptake relatively large amount of iron than normal cells, they are more susceptible to the toxic effect of artemisinin. In previous research, we have shown that artemisinin is more toxic to cancer cells than to normal cells.

Effect of fluorescent tags on translocation through nanochannels
2010 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology, 2010The fluorescent tagging of biomolecules can have substantial effects on the charge distribution and translocation of the molecules through nanochannels. We show that the diffusion and calculated flux of translocating protein molecules through nanochannels are strong functions of the tags used. The size of the nanopore channels of a membrane also affect

Effects of his-tags on physical properties of parvalbumins
Cell Calcium, 2019A comparative study of His-tagged and non-tagged rat β-parvalbumin (rWT β-PA), calcium binding protein with the EF-hand calcium binding domains, has been carried out. The attachment of His-tag increases α-helical content and decreases β-sheets and β-turns content of the metal free form (apo-state) of β-PA. In contrast to this, the attachment of His-tag

Effective transfer tagging from image to video
ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications, and Applications, 2013Recent years have witnessed a great explosion of user-generated videos on the Web. In order to achieve an effective and efficient video search, it is critical for modern video search engines to associate videos with semantic keywords automatically.
