Priming Effects and Strategic Influences in Social Tagging

Human–Computer Interaction, 2015
In many social tagging systems, users can see the tags already created by others. Prior research has shown that this exposure leads users to create tags that are semantically related to the previous ones. We investigate two possible mechanisms through which this occurs, semantic priming and strategic choice. Semantic priming occurs when an existing tag

Building an effective tagging interface

Journal of Digital Media Management, 2014
The Press Association is an integral part of the UK News Industry. Semantically tagging their content, that is, marking which people, places and organisations are involved, has the potential to vastly improve their output and product suite. To effectively manage this workflow, a Tagging Interface is required that will allow the internal users to curate

Tag antagonises the central cardiovascular effects of taurine

European Journal of Pharmacology, 1984
The taurine antagonist TAG was examined for its blocking activity towards the central cardiovascular effects of taurine and muscimol. Intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) injections of taurine (1-1000 micrograms/kg) and muscimol (0.1-3 micrograms/kg) in the anesthetised cat led to hypotension and bradycardia.

Effects of Tagging on the Growth of Cod

Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 1967
Abstract Atlantic cod were tagged and liberated at sea. Length data from recaptured individuals were examined for growth. Cod marked with Lea tags anchored internally grew at about the same rate as those marked with Petersen discs attached dorsally. The tagged fish grew at about the same rate as untagged fish.

The effect of the hexahistidine-tag in the oligomerization of HSC70 constructs

Journal of Chromatography B, 2006
The hexahistidine is a fusion tag used for the isolation of proteins via an immobilized metal-ion affinity chromatography (IMAC). In the present study, we have purified and analyzed two constructs of the heat shock protein HSC70 in the presence or the absence of the His-tag (C30WT-His(+)/C30WT and C30DeltaL-His(+)/C30DeltaL).

On the Effectiveness of Collaborative Tagging Systems for Describing Resources

2009 WRI World Congress on Computer Science and Information Engineering, 2009
This article investigates the effectiveness of community generated tags as social descriptors of resources uncoordinatedly annotated by community members. Our goal is to demonstrate practically that the aggregated tags applied to resources by the entire community define reasonably well resource meaning.

Wound healing in prawns tagged with streamer tags, and the effect of tag placement and prawn size on survival rate

Fisheries Research, 1990
The rates of closure of wounds made by streamer tags in penaeid prawns were measured, and the effect of streamer tag placement and prawn size on survival rate was assessed. Penaeus esculentus (27–39 mm carapace length (CL)) were tagged horizontally through the middle of the second abdominal segment. After tagging, the cuticle of the prawns grew inwards,

The Effect of Data Quality Tag Values and Usable Data Quality Tags on Decision-Making

2009
Prior research has shown that supplying decision-makers with data quality (DQ) tags, metadata about the quality of data used in decision-making, can impact decision outcomes in certain circumstances. However, there is conflicting evidence as to how or when decision outcomes are affected.

Effective Parameters for Ferrite-Core RID Tag Antennas

2018 IEEE 61st International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2018
In this paper we obtain the effective geometrical parameters of a ferrite-core based antenna to model its equivalent electrical circuit for computing the self-inductance, power losses, including the hysteresis effects. The ferrite coil is the receiver antenna of a low frequency RFID tag (134.2 kHz).

he Effect of Part-of-Speech Tagging on IR Performance for Turkish

2004
In this paper, we experimentally evaluate the effect of the Part-of-Speech (POS) tagging on Information Retrieval performance for Turkish. We used four term-weighting schemas to index SABANCI-METU Turkish Treebank corpus. The term weighting schemas are ” tf”, ”tf x idf”, ”Ltu.ltu”, and ”Okapi”.
