Who tags the tags?

Proceedings of the 18th ACM conference on Information and knowledge management, 2009
In this work we propose a novel framework for bookmark weighting which allows us to estimate the effectiveness of each of the bookmarks individually. We show that by weighting bookmarks according to their estimated quality we can significantly improve search effectiveness.

Baden - Tag für Tag

2023

EPITOPE TAGGING

Annual Review of Genetics, 1998
▪ Abstract  Epitope tagging is a recombinant DNA method by which a protein encoded by a cloned gene is made immunoreactive to a known antibody. This review discusses the major advantages and limitations of epitope tagging and describes a number of recent applications.

Fragment tagging

Gene Analysis Techniques, 1990
A tactic known as fragment tagging, which has proven to be exceptionally useful in expediting DNA cloning and plasmid construction schemes, is described. The advantage of fragment tagging is that it facilitates the isolation of specific plasmid DNA molecules present in small amounts within mixed pools of DNA.

Good Tags, Bad Tags

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2013
In the literature on optimal taxation, a “tag” is a government-observable taxpayer attribute that is effectively immutable – like blindness, race, gender, or even height. Conventional optimal tax theory prescribes that tags should be included in the tax base so long as they are in some way correlated with “ability” or “endowment” (more precisely, with “

Tags, micro-tags and tag editing: improving internet search

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
Social tagging is an emerging methodology that allows individual users to assign semantic keywords to content on the web. Popular web services allow the community of users to search for content based on these user-defined tags. Tags are typically attached to a whole entity such as a web page (e.g., del.icio.us), a video (e.g., YouTube), a product ...

Activation Tagging

2011
Insertional mutagenesis is one of the most effective approaches to determine the function of plant genes. However, due to genetic redundancy, loss-of-function mutations often fail to reveal the function of a member of gene families. Activation tagging is a powerful gain-of-function approach to reveal the functions of genes, especially those with high ...
