First Colonizers and Survivors in and Around Tagoro Submarine Volcano, Canary Islands, Spain

open access: yes, 2019
Tagoro, the youngest submarine volcano of the Canary Islands, erupted in 2011 South of El Hierro Island. Pre-existing sea floor and inhabiting biological communities were buried by the newly erupted material, promoting the appearance of new habitats.

Trawling footprint and diversity of benthic communities in the Menorca Channel (western Mediterranean). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
It is well known that bottom trawling affects the abiotic (seafloor morphology, sediment resuspension, water turbidity) and biotic components (biodiversity, biomass and production) of habitats.

Blue suns and tarnished silver in 1831: using historical accounts to investigate one of the most significant climate forcing volcanic eruptions of the nineteenth century [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
One of the most significant climate forcing eruptions of the nineteenth century occurred in 1831. It contributed to delaying the end of the Little Ice Age and, hence, the onset of anthropogenic warming, until the 1850s.

GEOMORPHOLOGICAL SUBMARINE FEATURES IN THE MENORCA CHANNEL (WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Based on geophysical (multibeam echosounder and very high resolution parametric profiles) and sedimentological (Shipek dredge) data acquired during the INTEMARESCANAL0419 expedition, different geomorphologic features have been identified.

Preliminary geomorphological analysis of the Tagoro Volcano underwater eruption (submarine slope of El Hierro Island)

open access: yes, 2016
Between October 2011 and March 2012 a submarine volcanic eruption took place at the offshore of El Hierro Island. The extensive study of the eruption and subsequent degassing process has allowedd monitoring the newly generated volcanic edifice. Multibeam bathymetric has enabled building a digital high-resolution bathymetric model (grid 1x1 m).

Dissolution patterns prediction for horizontal rough fracture based on deep neural network and lattice Boltzmann method [PDF]

open access: yes
Understanding thermal energy transfer and fracture evolution in submarine hydrothermal systems is essential for sustainable resource utilization, but simulating these complex multiphase, multi-physics processes is challenging.
