Who Ordered This?: Exploiting Implicit User Tag Order Preferences for Personalized Image Tagging [PDF]
What makes a person pick certain tags over others when tagging an image? Does the order that a person presents tags for a given image follow an implicit bias that is personal? Can these biases be used to improve existing automated image tagging systems?

Limiting Tags Fosters Efficiency [PDF]
Tagging facilitates information retrieval in social media and other online communities by allowing users to organize and describe online content. Researchers found that the efficiency of tagging systems steadily decreases over time, because tags become less precise in identifying specific documents, i.e., they lose their descriptiveness.

Part of Speech Tagging (POST) of a Low-resource Language using another Language (Developing a POS-Tagged Lexicon for Kurdish (Sorani) using a Tagged Persian (Farsi) Corpus) [PDF]
Tagged corpora play a crucial role in a wide range of Natural Language Processing. The Part of Speech Tagging (POST) is essential in developing tagged corpora. It is time-and-effort-consuming and costly, and therefore, it could be more affordable if it is automated. The Kurdish language currently lacks publicly available tagged corpora of proper sizes.

Method for Customizable Automated Tagging: Addressing the Problem of Over-tagging and Under-tagging Text Documents [PDF]
Using author provided tags to predict tags for a new document often results in the overgeneration of tags. In the case where the author doesn't provide any tags, our documents face the severe under-tagging issue. In this paper, we present a method to generate a universal set of tags that can be applied widely to a large document corpus.

Network topology drives population temporal variability in experimental habitat networks
Habitat patches connected by dispersal pathways form habitat networks. We explored how network topology affects population outcomes in laboratory experiments using a model species (Daphnia carinata). Central habitat nodes in complex lattice networks exhibited lower temporal variability in population sizes, suggesting they support more stable ...

One common trend in image tagging research is to focus on visually relevant tags, and this tends to ignore the personal and social aspect of tags, especially on photoblogging websites such as Flickr.
